I don't get angry or extreme, I just wonder what is wrong with these people.  It is a problem.  I hope America can find some middle ground soon.

The current president is a contentious asshole.  Some like it and others don't.  Hence "contentious".

I don't get angry or extreme, either.  When it comes to politics n general, I'm neutrally bemused.  I work in government (yeah, one of those over-paid and under-appreciated societal leeches), and I try to stay neutral because I have to work for those on both sides of the political aisle ... which includes the public itself.  My question was trolling for response to enliven an otherwise near-dead forum.  Sheesh ... Pasanda goes on vacation and the chatter just stops.  I guess we know who is the life of the party around here.

Oh Lordy I wish I had a nice fat government pension coming my way.  My dad is kicking over 80k in retirement and living in Thailand like he is Hugh Hefner.  That's not the life I am looking for, but security in retirement would be nice.

My brother in law works for the ATF.  He is obscenely overpaid and very under worked.  If he had to get another job somewhere else, he would be lucky to make half of his current salary.  Not to mention, he gets perks like a company car.  Keep in mind, he is not a manager or executive.  He is considered to be a standard agent.

Because he has worked 25 years, he is retiring at age 51 with his full salary ... which I would guess its north of $130k.  Wait, it gets crazier.  It would actually COST him money to continue working.  Meaning he is better off retiring than working.  How much sense does that make?

To top if off ... if he chooses, he can work for another government agency or police department while receiving his ATF pension. This would qualify him to receive 2 pensions.

My dad did not have even that many years, but I guess they counted his time as a Marine as well.  He was a night shift radar technician for the FAA.

Now in the latest from Russia.  Allegedly, there has been a big problem with counterfeit Viagra being smuggled into the US by Russian agents.

According several news outlets, it seems, that Russia has been attempting to meddle in our erections.

Me too. Unfortunately my retirement benefits do not include a pension, let alone a fat anything. The "over-paid" part of my post was sarcasm, while the "under-appreciated" part is true. Where I work, we are everyone's favorite punching bag and are the first to feel budget cuts.

I always thought the DOT jokes were just made up and they may be.  But I have seen with my own eyes a good DOT story.  Well here in Mississippi anyway.  While waiting for a traffic light several years ago.  There were five DOT trucks parked along the side of the road.  Four guys dressed nice were standing with some papers watching one guy on a backhoe pull up some old railroad ties, another five guys were all lined up leaning on their shovels also watching.  Now because of the traffic I had to sit though several lights so was able to watch them for some time.  The guy on the backhoe would move a scoop of dirt/gravel then one of the guys leaning on a shovel would walk over and shovel half a load of dirt and walk back to his place in line.  Then the whole process would repeat with each of the five shovel guys taking a turn moving half a shovel load of dirt.  I laugh about it to this day and most people I tell the story to think I am making it up.

Alright everyone in America, you know what time it is.

Election Season.

I'm going to say this, I did vote R down the ticket. However, I did so after looking at both sides (Except in the case of mom; I know her opponent, and she would be terrible.)

Listen to all the phone calls.

Watch all the ads.

Do all your own research.

Most importantly, get out and vote!

Why Did Facebook Fire a Top Executive? Hint: It Had Something to Do With Trump

"Palmer Luckey, co-founder of virtual-reality pioneer Oculus, was ousted after his political activity sparked a furor within the social-media giant and Silicon Valley"

Every time I hear <insert Liberal on TV or media member or even people I know> say they want to have a "conversation" ... I laugh to myself.  By conversation, they usually mean a one sided shout down where they do all the talking and don't listen.

The graphic above discusses contributions by employees. How is the company responsible for what it's employees donate to? I feel i'm missing something.

Same thing Google does.  Manipulating search query and censorship to push an agenda.  The contributions show why, but they are getting sued for the act.
