Add my name to the list of people hoping more studios use streaming services instead of theaters.  The downside is every studio will have their own streaming service, so instead of paying for Netflix (or any one service), we'll have 10 to choose from.  Even if they are $10 a month it's not bad considering one trip to the theater is usually $40+

So ... (fair disclosure: did not read the article) ... movie studios are looking to provide a subscription viewer service, where they get the consumer's money every month even if:

A. they don't release a movie in that month, or

B. they drop a stinker that would otherwise bomb at the theater.

amiright?

We have a rotation of pay services set up where we only access one of them every 3 months.  So it doesn't really cost us anymore for many than it would for one.  We use prime and just add or remove channels, or better yet utilize the free 2-week trial that resets every couple months to view the content we want then move on.
