Black/Green Graveyard/False Cure (casual)

21 posts in this topic

So a while back I threw a bunch of cool graveyard cards into a deck and tried to make it work.  Ended up tweaking it and adding False Cure to work off of Kavu Predator.  It's done fairly well in play testing, but not consistent enough.  A little out of my comfort zone with a graveyard deck like this, first time trying it out but it's been fun.

The main cards in the deck are:

111.jpg118.jpg46.jpg146.jpg140.jpg

Creatures:

Lhurgoyf x4

Skyshroud Cutter x4

Reverent Silence x4

Mortivore x4

Kavu Predator x4

Satyr Wayfinder x4

Jarad, Golgari Lich Lord x3

Stinkweed Imp x3

Splinterfright x2

Spells:

False Cure x4

Hunters' Feast x3

Treasured Find x2

Nourish x2

Grisley Salvage x2

Death Denied x2

Planeswalkers:

Vraska the Unseen x1

Land:

Swamps x11

Forest x10

As you can see, it needs some love.  Don't want to get too crazy with it.  As most of my decks go this is another casual for fun deck.  Tried to add gain life effects to boost Kavu Predator.  I worry that I'm trying to do too many things here.  A graveyard setup with the False Cure/Kavu Predator stuff might be trying too much.

Help is appreciated!

Tainted remedy.

And yes a grave set up like this is not going to work well.

You'd go mortivore and not lhurgoyf for one, and thats literally all you could use.

There are better cards than lhurgoyf that do the same thing now.

I have a bad habit of trying to do too many things and nothing works right.  Never have made a true graveyard deck, so I'll have to break this in half and make two decks out of it.

Net decking is the same as asking for deck advice.

I've been saying this for 6 years!

There is a difference between asking for advice for one or two cards and just copying something someone else made.... If I have an idea, I might browse for other interpretations, but I like to do the majority of the deck MY idea.

ANd unless you use strictly worse cards it turns into a net deck at some point.

Kind of.  Sometimes someone will think of something different than whats on all the online lists.

Depends on your meta and play style.

I like finding cards that work together and janky combos.  I do net deck once in a while but I feel dirty doing it

It's rare they do.

Or maybe you pick a casual theme that nobody else posts online so you make your own janky deck that evolves into something to terrorize @JesGolbez and friends. ;)

MTGvault.com

Most popular decks are janky casual decks that don't even have a use in casual, there everything already exists so you're net decking it

Honestly you get more hate for net decking at FNM but way more hate for home brewing on MODO and at a pro level tourny.

At least I'm not a casual.

You'll never be good unless you spend at least 33% of each paycheck on mtg.

Looks like I'll always be between bad and terrible, and I'm OK with that. Nobody can say I don't have fun :)

Have any dirty casual ideas for these decks?

Other than splitting the deck up and using tainted remedy, a few.
